A Riddle of Sons of Korah
Why should I fear when evil days come,
    when wicked deceivers surround me—
6 those who trust in their wealth
and boast of their great riches?
7 No one can redeem the life of another
or give to God a ransom for them—
8 the ransom for a life is costly,
    no payment is ever enough—
9 so that they should live on forever
    and not see decay.
10 For all can see that the wise die,
that the foolish and the senseless also perish,
    leaving their wealth to others.
11 Their tombs will remain their house. Forever,
    their dwellings for endless generations,
though they had named lands after themselves.
12 People, despite their wealth, do not endure;
they are like the beasts that perish.
13 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves,
and of their followers, who approve their sayings.
Psalms 49:5,13.
A psalm sung by the Sons of Korah or say that These Psalms were the result of difficulties they faced in their lives. Sons of Korah, The one who went against the anointed one . The cursed man who was swallowed by the earth . A man who had no support of his children.

Korah, Dathan and Abiram were the main leaders who revolted against the man of God , Moses .They claimed to be righteous and wanted to serve God , burn incense before God . GOD’s anger burnt against them and they were all swallowed by the earth . We read that all that belonged to them , their wives , their children all went down with them .Then how come Korah’s children not die and later on become the Psalmist. Even the last Judge of Israel , Samuel, was also one of the great grand child of Korah.

When we read (Numbers 16) carefully we find that it was Dathan and Abiram’s children who went down with their fathers and not Korah’s children. Korah ‘s children did not support his ideas . They were against him as they considered
‘Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere ; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the  house of my GOD than dwell in the tents of the wicked.’
Hence they did not stay with their fathers to die and we don’t find any reference of Korah’s  children in Numbers 16. But we do find that there were some followers of Korah who were very keen to die with him (Numbers 16:32). Korah’s children were saved as they had no part in his sin . They took a stand that later Joshua  took ‘but as for me and my household , we will serve the LORD’.

Can we all take that decision,  that  Whatever comes and goes by , whoever falls in sin and roll in that , we will serve the LORD.
Even after all these chaos and destruction , there were some who thought ,Korah and his followers were LORD’S righteous (Numbers16:21) . The great deceptor deceived these people to sin .

But korah’s children were saved from this great deception. In Psalms 88 they say ‘I am counted among those who go down the pit. I am like a man without strength.’  They prayed for a restoration (psalms 85:4,5). They wanted to remove the disgrace their father had brought .For they knew GOD is their only refuge and strength .They were counted among dead but GOD vindicated them .

We were all counted among dead, we were all destined to death but GOD saved us. He gave us salvation through his son Jesus Christ. He will raise us before the people who taunt (Psalms 42: 3) . He will give a new song to sing.

Sons of Korah were saved from going down the pit instead they became the worshipers of the LORD Almighty. GOD snatches away some people from the mouth of the prowling lion to place them in a place called
                          QUIVER OF GOD
