For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task ?           2 Corinthians 2:15,16

As we look upon all the five senses, we see that smell is the least important sense. All other senses are considered to be more important. But this sense of smell can help us to escape dangers in its early stages. For example, if anything is burning, people far away who cannot see or hear the burning thing will surely smell it, and they will be warned that something is burning. Unfortunately, humans have poor sense of smell. Hence, the Police force are forced to have Dogs in their squad to smell dangers and other stuffs.

At the blast of the trumpet he snorts, ‘Aha! ‘ He catches the scent of battle from afar, the shout of commanders and the battle cry. Job 39:25
God is talking to Job about the horses He created. They are armed with strength. They are brave, they can withstand the fierce atmosphere of battle field. They can go through such situations where others are even afraid to go near. They can smell battles from afar. They catch the scent of danger and prepares to face it. Can we be like those Horses? Can we smell dangers even before it arrives? Apostle Paul says “Therefore put on the full armour of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground” Hence, pray that our sense of smell be sharpened so that we may be aware of devil’s clever schemes.
And the satraps, prefects,  governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies,  nor was a hair of their heads singed;  their robed were not scorched,  and there was no smell of fire on them.        Daniel 3:27
We too go through situations nothing less than fire, but when God saves us from all such dangers, there’s not even a hint of loss.People around us will not even smell that. How many times God saved us from getting humiliated before the people. Job went through one of the most fiery situations. He lost his family, health and wealth but when God restored him, Job recieved double of everything he had lost. You won’t smell a hint of loss in his life.
Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals amd clean birds,  he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma… Genesis 8:20
Noah stepped on the land almost after one year, all the people and animals living in the world were dead. Even in the midst of all this awful situation, God smelled the aroma of Noah’s offering. In this world of today, many awful, and poisnous smell arise around us. We can smell selfishness, anger,  hatred, losses, failures etc. But when we come to God, the sacrifices and offerings we make should become a pleasing aroma to God.
Yes, this sense of smell will warn us of schemes of devil, and God will make sure that there’s no smell of loss and failure in our lives instead He would want us to be the aroma of Christ.
God gave these Five senses to man that he may live by sensing things around him. Don’t cripple any of these senses or else you will lose the battle. Instead sharpen your Five Senses and make a place in QUIVER OF GOD.
